He has managed small teams of professionals and led major infrastructure development and economic growth initiatives. Among his most significant professional engagements, Mr. Hayes has led run the public affairs division of a regional infrastructure policy organization, implemented political strategy for the major expansion of Ohio’s largest airport, overseeing efforts to raise $1 Billion in construction funding, managed urban economic agenda of the State of Ohio and managed lobbying activity in federal and state settings.

He has been appointed and elected to leadership positions in the Democratic Party, ran winning political campaigns, written scripts and speeches for candidates and officials, and served as the first Muslim American legislative aide in the Florida Senate.
During the 2018 and 2020 elections, Ali grew the Florida Democratic Party’s digital footprint by more than 500% with creative and interactive campaigns: it became the first American political party to launch TikTok and Twitch channels, launching multiple viral campaigns and dozens of microsites for Florida and national campaigns. The work of Ali and his team were highlighted in multiple national news outlets as game-changing, including a full story in Time Magazine and several of his work featured on HBO.
Ali earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award from President Obama in recognition of his grassroots work registering voters. He has been a formal guest to the White House for his demonstrated social media experience and a second time for dinner with President Obama for his community work in support of Obamacare. At the age of 24, Ali was elected a Party Leader Delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention on behalf of Senator Bernie Sanders. He is a Florida Politics 30 Under 30 award recipient and a UCF Alumni 30 Under 30 award recipient. Whatever the odds, he sticks to his motto: “Fair is worth fighting for.”
Peñalosa is a public affairs veteran and leading voice in the Democratic Party and is a regular on national panels addressing race, power and politics in addition to multiple appearances as a political analyst and contributor for national news outlets including CNN, MSNBC, Politico, the Washington Post, New York Times and Bloomberg.
Prior to joining Amare, Peñalosa held top roles in progressive and Democratic organizations and campaigns including service as the Executive Director of the Florida Democratic Party, and leadership roles on President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, Joe Biden’s 2020 Presidential Campaign and as a manager and senior strategist on dozens of winning Congressional and statewide issue-based campaigns across the U.S. In addition, Juan has served as a top national fundraiser, raising over $20 million in the 2020 electoral cycle for progressive and Democratic campaigns.
Prior to his work in the political and fundraising space, Peñalosa spent 15 years in crisis communications and international development, specializing in helping sovereign nations, international NGOs and private sector clients across the globe adapt and implement digital, social and financial management models to address a rapidly changing global citizenry.
Juan is a graduate of Boston College, where he received degrees with honors in both Geophysics and Sociology. He is a first generation Colombian-American and lives between Miami and Washington, DC.
